Book
artist and printmaker Dore Page uses the principles of typography
to define a unique fine art
form. She creates prints using modern folk-art techniques,
printing from wood-blocks, pieces
of fabric, or just about anything else that offers up a printable
pattern. Traditional hand-letterpress
and silk screen printing conbine to give her works distinctive
contemporary appeal.
Each artwork print
undergoes as many
as 50 individual printing operations. This
labor-intensive quality of the process and the extremely low
number of prints in each edition
make her works unique and very collectible. Dore's
work is in many collections throughout the world including
the Museum of Modern Art, Brown
University, and the University of Rhode Island. Her work
also
appears under the publication
name Woodbine Editions.
