Brother
Michaewrote the following about his experiences at Pontiac
Mills and Studioworks:
"It was just about the same time I was given permission by my Provincial
to work on my paintings full-time
and was looking for a studio
space where I could finish up
some
oil paintings for an upcoming
3-person show at Wickford Art Association, Studioworks opened. "The
Lord provides; others promise! It was just what I was looking for
and to
top it off Studioworks
is managed by Mike &
Joanne Breslin,
who have done so many
remarkable,
prudent and generous deeds for the local art
community in South
County, R.I. "I
wasn't at the Pontiac Mill more than a few days when I took (what I
thought
would be) a "quick"
tour of the place. I was enchanted
by what I saw around each
corner, down each alley, up every
stairway, out each window.
Forget the other earlier work
I had been trying to complete! All the colors, shapes and textures
that so appeal to me lately
are right here in
front of me. So, since mid-October, I've
been coming up to
Studioworks almost
every day of the
week and have been enjoying
the bloodless
struggle with the paints
and brushes
trying to capture some of the gentle, aging,
peaceful beauty
of this old mill."
